It’s all about the details
I have wanted to start this company for over a year. Some of the delay has been a lack of focus on my part. However, I know there is a fine line between procrastination and failure to prepare. I think procrastination can be as detrimental as a lack of preparation. I am definitely not over prepared as there are a lot of things that still need to “fall in place”, but I am glad I didn’t push forward with this months ago, because I know I would have gotten frustrated and failed miserably.
Long story short, I have obtained the funding to develop our first browser plugin, and I have what I think is a solid business plan. I have also talked with a developer who I hope we will be able to work with. We have been very cautious in this area because we have been burned in this area before. Losing money is never fun, but I really think the wisdom that we took from that failure will help make this venture successful. No one wants to attend the School of Hard Knocks but if you have to go to class you might as well learn something.
The next steps to create our first Web Application will involve non-disclosure contracts and finalizing our decision on a developer. I am really looking forward to getting this Browser Plugin into our users hands. I think it’s going to save people a lot of time and be very popular.

When I registered Phixxr.com I had really gotten hooked on another domain name – Fixxr.com – but it was not available. A buddy of mine checked it for me tonight and let me know it was available, so guess what? Gonna be switching to Fixxr.com. Thanks Mike!

Made the switch to Fixxr.com. I’ll use Phixxr.com later to host some code on or something of that nature.
